Hello,
I have been on Prozac (Fluoxetine), for about 2-3 years now. I’m on 30mg right now. I have started to notice that I get very very depressed around my the time of my period. It could be the day before, the week of, or even the week before. I’ve always struggled more so with anxiety, and not necessarily depression. But recently I’ve noticed it can get very bad every once in a while around my period to the point that it gives me horrible thoughts and I feel so sad. It is scary.
Long story short, I went back to my psychiatrist thinking maybe we should change my meds, instead she would like to put me on Lamictal.
Now I have a very bad fear of Seizures/having a seizure. My brother has epilepsy and I have had to deal with that for the last 5 or so years and it has given me some PTSD from seeing him have one and hurting himself many times.
My question is…
Has anyone ever taken this medication and see results?
I know it’s an ANTI seizure medication, but if you came off of it, could it cause you to have seizures?
What kind of side effects have you gone through taking Lamictal?
Also, has anyone found it to help with their mood… get rid of depression and help with anxiety as well?
