Just wondering if anyone else has these symptoms on Lamotrigine?... Really bizarre dreams sometimes nightmare not associating real life with dreams don't know of im dream g things or they are really happening. My memory is horrendous & I'm soo forgetful I used to be doo good. Also I'm spending money like its water & buying things I don't neccesarily need.... Also I find I'm seeing people's reactions differently I used think some people were ok. It I'm questioning if they are ok or not. Every time I'm upping my dose I get exhausted. Also. Y mood changes I tend not to care like I used to im more relaxed. Hope someone can I help I feel I'm losing me 😞
Hi Atom,
It does sound like you cannot handle this medication, and it should be changed to something more suitable - as the saying goes everyone is different and in your case Lamotrigine is causing you issues.
Ask your GP or Epilepsy Specialist if you could try something else and tell them the reason why. I am on a number of medicines for Epilepsy, and it took awhile to get them right.
Also, be aware that this drug can have conflicts with other known medications. I would contact someone ASAP in your case, I have had similar issues to you on other medications, and while I think I am in a real world, I am actually asleep - it's dangerous, or can be in some cases.
Regards,
Les,
Atom75: That’s about a 180 of the effects I had when I started Lamictal then had to go generic with Lamotrigine. My mind felt free and I could think. My mood improved. But the downside for me was massive insomnia; not sleeping for up to three days in a row, and when I did sleep, I didn’t dream. Dr. switched me to Levetiractam, had a lot of rage. Now on both. I would stress you to talk to your Dr. and taper off it and taper onto a different med. or meds. After all, you’re the patient and the Dr. has to listen and be concerned for your health.
I know this is an old post but just wanted to share i have been taking lamotrigin for about two years now 200mg at night and wondering if this is causing my insomnia. I am also taking quetiapin sometimes for anxiety. I also feel i cant remember S!
I was on Lamotrogine but did not have these side effects.
