I had a bunionectomy last December, the bump was still there as the top of toe was shaved not the side.
Second op in July, this time with Lapidus procedure, and second bunionectomy, this op again didn't work as the surgeon "over shot" the setting of my toe, which has left a large gap and I'm still unable to wear shoes.
I was due my thirds to correct this last Tuesday, but was cancelled due to the junior doctor, all booked in for second week in January
Hi Terri, I am sure I read your posts at the time, I had my right bunion (at a 45 degree angle) removed and three pins inserted to straighten the toe on 12th December last year, I have twice this year cancelled the other foot operation as I am not 100% happy with the result of the first op, it looks as though it's returning on the top of the foot and I still experience discomfort up into my lower back after walking and especially when waking and this is following a few sessions of physio so I wonder if it's just as well to put up with my 'Frodo's Feet' and wear wider shoes! Good luck with your next operation, I really hope it works for you.
Hi Sandra,
Thank you.
I still have a lot of pain in the toe and also have pain around the ankle.
I was really not pleased with both outcomes and am still wearing Ugg style boots!
I had physio with first op but still didn't have much movement due to the arthritis.
So I'm now due to have pins and plate removed, toe reset and pins and plate inserted again!
Good luck to you too 😃
Are you in the UK Terri?
I feel for you, I had a double bunionectomy and 1st MT and 2nd
toe exterior tenotomy last October and it wasn't done correctly.
I now need to go through it all again....plus I now have arthritis
in my toes.
I'm having the op done by a different surgeon and as my right
foot... in surgeons words.... needs extensive work it'll be one
foot at a time.
It does pip me off as I feel I've lost a year of my life for no real
benifit..
Hi,
yes Im in the uk, I live in Dorset. I am also having a different surgeon to do my next op, I don't think the consultant was very happy at how my toe is now.
I can totally understand you, it's also been a whole year and continuing for me too, and not being able to wear pumps!
All the best 😃
I really understand, I had my operation in February, I fell and broke my toe two weeks after the operation and need to have it done again.. I have a floppy second toe which needs fusing.. I have also had an operation on my Achellies on the other foot in August and now face my third operation on my feet in February..My consultant was not sure exactly how best to sort my problem so I am now waiting to find out what will be done...
I also now now have a painful lump on the outside of my foot where my little toe has gone astray...
