Hello can somebody give me an information. What is latanoprosr? I went to my eye doctor last week. And my eyes pressure was only 17 for both eyes. He didnt say anything. He only gave me latanoprost eye drops. Is it mean i have a glaucoma? Please somebodt give me the answer (
17 is normal pressure, but that doen't mean that you don't have glaucoma. Really, I would have asked him. Did you just see a doctor or a hospital consultant? I prefer the opinions of the hospital. I have been on eyedrops for over 20 years, but can still see OK. Although my pressure is usually in the mid 20s, I don't have glaucoma, but something called "interocular hypertension," and the drops keep that under control!
Totally agree with all that Alcantra has said. I have been using Latanaprost for about 15 years and my pressures are held at about 17-18. Please dont panic....it doesnt mean anything sinister, and you have been given excellent preventative medicine. You should be having regular pressure checks from your eye doctor to make sure your eyes stay healthy...possibly every 6 months. Are you in UK?
Ask him if you have optic nerve damage. Did he do a visual field test? You may have Normal Tension Glaucoma where your pressures are low, but if you were myopic, have thin corneas and had a visual field test that shows vision loss or he took photos of your optic nerve that may be damaged. Start researching the hell out of Normal Tension Glaucoma. I am losing vision....my doctors didn't catch it till it was too late. Sounds crummy that he didn't even go into what is going on with you. You may have poor circulation to your eyes; your pressures may be skyrocketing when you sleep...Joing FitEyes community on line. You will find a wealth of info. Sleep on your back on a wedge pillow, do you snore? do you have sleep apnea? Does your blood pressure drop a lot during the night....all these things matter. Just start researching since your dr didn't really give you much info. Good luck.
It is the best solution to treat glaucoma disease and used to control IOP flow inside our eyes. Also used to have longer eyelashes growth.
