Pretty sure I have herpes. Head g to the clinic tomorrow to find out. my vagina got pretty irritated during oral and then a few days later started to get different symptoms.
Just wondering how long you think your herpes was dormant? My partner had no signs of coldsores and we've been together over 18 months. He has had no signs of genital herpes either. This is my first outbreak, so if it's not from him it's been 2 years + for mine to be dormant.

Well hun, I am sorry to hear the news, just no that it will be OK.
First I'd like to say that soneone does not have to have cold sores present to be contagious. Over 80% of people w herpes are asymptomatic. It sounds like a high probability, that you got it from oral sex, through what is called asymptomatic shedding. This means the virus is shedding viral particles at the surface of the skin, but not active persay and does not result in physical sores. ..
Finding out what strain it is, will give you an idea on how you got it. I displayed symptoms not even 3 days after sexual contact. I think that this can happen and could be plausible in your case, but more likely than not in the cases of someone having recent sexual activity and shortly thereafter, displaying symptoms, is the result of a new infection and not a dormant.
If in fact it was a dormant case, you can't be sure he didn't give it to you either, unless he gets tested and comes back negative. In that case, then yiu can make the call that you've been dormant. Remember, most have no idea they have herpes, because they don't get outbreaks and herpes is not included in a full STD panel. You have to specifically request herpes, regardless if you say you want to be tested for EVERYTHING, they still will not unless yiu ask for herpes. This is how many are led to believe the are negative and continue spreading.
I feel pretty confident you got this from oral sex and I would be shocked otherwise. So just rekax, take a deep breath and know that we are here to support you.
.I also highly recommend this other site, that has the latest medical literature, support community specifically for herpes and pamphlets yiu can download, including ones for disclosure to a partner and statistics w transmission risks. Google H opportunity forums. You will have to request yo be a member and they do this, so yiu don't have trolls coming on there just to spread false info and say mean things. It is yo provide a safe and comforting place to be vulnerable. It also erlcones and encourages partners to go on as well and things designated for then for each scenario.

Thanks for your reply. the doctor is pretty convinced it's herpes too. Heading back on Friday. Feeling very sad although have done a lot of research into it and so I know it's not the end of the world.
Lying in a salt bath right now with salty tears dripping in it!!
Epsom salt baths help me to this day if I even am feeling sensations on my genitals and clears things up for me very quickly. Let me know if yiu are experiencing any pain or discomfort and I'll share some things you can do.
