Just over 2 years ago I was having pain and told that I had gallstones and needed my gallbladder removed. I had that done just 2 years in August. Since then I have had the most appalling health.
I swell every night and look like I am pregnant, the swelling sits on my lungs as it is high up and I struggle to breathe (been to A&E several times panicking and kept for a few hours and fed morphine). I have pain virtually every night with the exception of an odd night every now and again (rarely).
I have had every test known to man, endoscopies, colonoscopy, MRI, CT, gas tube up the nose for 24 hours, stool samples, blood tests, allergy testing and nothing seems to show up. I even paid private to be told that by taking my gall bladder the hospital have made my symptoms 10 times worse!
The hospital pumped me full of pills and discharged me saying they do not know what it is and to try and stay on the tablets and basically live with it. I currently take Solphadol, Esomeprazole, Amitriptyline and Metoclopramide.
Are there any others out there with similar problems and if so do you have a diagnosis?
This has changed my whole life. I can no longer go out drinking with my friends, even nights out without drinking are uncomfortable as within a few hours I am swollen and people comment. My partner has been understanding which is a good job because even our relationship has had to change to a certain degree. I cannot eat the foods I used to enjoy so limits meals out. Holidays have had to be adapted around me.
Am I alone in this or are there others??
Hi Jane
I do take metoclopramide for nausea as I get this a lot. Also I take PPI's aka Esomeprazole, I take Amitriptyline for relaxing my insides overnight and then Solphadol for the pain relief. Even with all this I still get pain and bloating at night time. I tend to just position myself with hot water bottles at night and if all else fails try to get in a position in bed that lets me sleep! Raised pillows to keep my top half upright, the list is endless. I have accepted that no one is going to be able to help me but it is hard enduring it every night.
I wish you well and hope that you do not have the same issues following your removal.
Hi Stephie,
I know this is impossible to believed in but try to used RADDISH. Extract the juice from this vegetable then drink it before meal 3 times a day. The more juice could help triggered the pain in your atomach. I have tried this with me and I assure you this will work
