Does anyone know if surgery can be done to correct a tilted pelvis, if this is causing a limp, if this is the problem?
Well i had a titled pevis from birth. One side was 5cm higher than other. Obvious to say that has now left me with severe health isse. Unfortanetly no one was willing to do anything about it other than when i had my hip replaced. When i had that surgery the surgeon also moved my hips down and many other things (took 7 hours in total)
I was just told yesturday that I have a tilted pelvis which is causing me to limp its 8cm .my surgeon thinks everything would fall back in place .I was told to put in sole inserts in my shoes for now bc of back pain ..im 8 months post op on right hip and 6 weeks on left hip ..so for now im going to buy the shoes inserts and pray that it works till everthing lines up again
Did it seem to help? She has no pain, and doesn't realize she limps. Going to Mayo Clinic July 19th, Hopeing they can help for her sake
She has had the limp for years, so it won't change by itself after this long. Wears inserts for a long time. Was hopeing if it came to it, that surgery could correct it
Im sorry but no way will shoe inserts work for that. The only thing that would would be to get your shoes themselves built up tbh
It helped a little bit but its still not normal and still have a limp at this moment in time
Oh i think that came off a bif wrong. I didnt mean to sound rude. Sorry
Hi Fred,
That is so nice of you to be so concerned about her - In a previous post you mentioned that she had 2 hip replacement surgeries a couple of years ago-
How bad is the limp ? You wrote that she doesn' even realize that she is limping and has no pain ... Is the appointment at Mayo to get an opinion on her limp?
That seems to be the best place to get an answer, I think -
Let us know how she is getting on, okay
good luck
big warm hug for both of you

p.s. what is her name?
Her name is Sharon. She lost her husband and I lost my wife. I love her very much. She has had both hip replacements done at Mayo . The last one maybe 15 years ago. Not a bad limp, so she doesn't know it, but very self concious if someone mentions it. Yes thats what we are going for. Sure hope they can help. She wouldn't have made the appointment if I hadn't suggested it. Thank you so much for your concern, you sound like a nice lady Fred
Hello Fred:
it's really good to have you reaching out and supporting your partner. It means a lot as I know that my spouse has been essential to my ups and downs pre and post surgery.
As Renee says, the Mayo Clinic sounds like the best course of action at this point.
I was just wondering if Sharon has been to, or has had physio focussing on her limp. I had a limp for years prior to surgery and am working on not limping 9 weeks post surgery.
All the best to both of you,
Cathy
I 'm not sure but I don't think so. I have hope that Mayo can do something.I have always felt that Mayo was the last stop for any ailment. I gotta have faith for her sake. She means the world to me.
How would I go about that ??? Do I go thought my surgeon or someone else... And I did buy the shoes insert this morning and I dont feel any different and Im still limping..... I need to get this under control im going back to work next week and im on my feet for 8 plus hrs aday.
If your in Britain the NHS will do 3 pairs of shoes a year for you. Not sure about any other countries. I had a special shoe raise built for me but it didnt helo as it wasnt big enough to maje a difference because to make it the correct size it would have resulted in me not being able to wear shoes because my foot wouldnt be able to fit in 😂 xx
A tilted or twisted pelvis can be corrected with neuromuscular inserts.
Further information you will get by Tutty´s handmade shoes Naas Kildare Ireland
Thank you so very much. I will check it out
Thanks Sarah .I'm in the United States .I'm going to look into where I can go ....in Upstate NewYork... sorry it didn't help you .hopefully there is something out there that well help the both of us ......good luck
Hello,
All I know, as of now, my doctor says that much of the bone in the
socket has dissolved. He tells me that he'll rebuild the socket with bone
from someone else. I'll keep my ears open.
what a beautiful story -
I hope that the visit to Mayo Clinic will give the outcome you both are hoping for ... Surgery to correct a tilted pelvis sounds challenging to me as well as healing from it ----
Embracing you both and please keep us informed
