Hi all,
So last Friday I stupidly attempted to clean my ears with cotton buds (it's only after I realised that it's possibly the worst thing you can do) After cleaning them, everything seemed fine until I woke up the following morning slight with loss of hearing in my left ear, it's not completely gone but it is muffled (almost as if you have water in your ear when swimming, or flying in a plane just before your ears pop) and I have a ringing sensation within my ear.
im booked in with my GP in the coming days but I was just wondering if anybody can give any possible indications what it may be.
Kind Regards,
I forgot to add there is no pain either in my symptoms
ajrg, It is possible that when you attempted to clean your ears that you actually pushed wax down further into your ear, and it could be just wax build up. Your GP should be able to fix that pretty easy, if thats what it is. I had a friend that just had that same problem a couple of weeks ago, she went to the er, and the doctor said it was just wax build up and he poured peroxide in her ears and let them drain themselves and she was fine.
Thanks for your reply Janet, I have tried Earex advance ear drops to no avail, so hopefully something stronger as you've suggested may help
Peroxide in ears? Yikes! It could be possible that you need your arms syringing. My practice nurse did mine a couple of years ago and it really helps.x
I have been having the same problem when I stand up keep me posted on what your dr says
