here we go, app 6 weeks ago I had a w,end starting on the saturday with slightly dodgy tummy, then sunday same feeling with loads of belching and slight headache...sinve the next day mon the 17th july every day since I,ve had a throat acid reflux going in to mouth teeth tingling horrible feelling, no other symptoms, no heartburn or pain anywhere else and its strictly so far diurnal daytime upright only..went to doc put me on 1 a day opramazole for 2 week then up to 2 a day no improvement...took bloods all readings bloodwise superb, bu tested pos for h pylori..so now on 4th day of the triple dosage stronger ppi anti bs etc for a week.....im losing the plot trying to guess whats wrong with me it is a crap way to live...daily acid reflux in mouth, ppis aint doing much as I said ,gaviscon works a treat for a wee while, any ideas folks, cheers Allan x
First give the H-pylori treatment a fair go. Other things to try are a really good probiotic a sensible diet and sparing on alcohol. Others on this forum will have more advice on this.
If things don't settle I would think the next tests will be endoscopy and upper GI scan.
H-pylori can cause gastritis and ulcers in some people and these can be fuerther aggravated by stress and poor diet.

Da Sie positiv auf H. pylori getestet wurden, ist dies Ihre Diagnose, vertrauen Sie Ihrem Arzt. Es sind noch frühe Tage, da Sie nur kurz in Behandlung sind. H. pylori kann sehr schwer zu beseitigen sein.
thanks pippa...I am aware that the triple pill 7day treatment for h pylori does not always work, a follow up course after a breath test would be next, blood test is a 1 time thing i think...Ive been on PPIS a total of 32 days and ive read for this silent reflux lpr condition it can take way longer if indeed thats what i have but who knows? hope it is the h pylori....there are many symptoms for H py. i wonder if anybody else has had any similar symptoms? i also bought an inversion table for disc issues fab for my back but inversion upside down can put pressure on hiatus hernia and the chronology would match up, i used it for about 3 months most days fixed my back and ..tempted to use a swear word there wouldve been perfect...and hurt my gut! thanks again, and thanks to susie 100...............Allan the cabby
Beruhige dich, Allan, alles wird gut, das ist das Erste, zweitens, was hast du genau in Bezug auf Diagnosen, hast du eine Gastroskopie oder andere Tests durchgeführt, außer dem HP?? Was für eine Dosis Omeprazol nimmst du, wann und wie (ja, das ist wichtig). Gaviscon ist in Ordnung, aber nicht innerhalb von 2 Stunden vor oder nach deinem PPI. Aber es wirkt gut, wenn du den PPI morgens nimmst und das Gaviscon direkt vor dem Schlafengehen. Jetzt brauchen PPIs Zeit, um zu wirken, ich habe viele Testberichte gelesen und obwohl die Ergebnisse angeben, dass 4-8 Wochen die Norm sind, um zu heilen, habe ich und andere haben festgestellt, dass dies nicht der Fall ist, eher 8-12 Monate und dann eine langfristige Behandlung mit ihnen. HP kann viele Antibiotika-Kurse durchlaufen und manche werden es nie los, jetzt nicht in Panik geraten, denn viele haben es wie ein HH, aber es bereitet ihnen keine Probleme. Komm zurück, Allan, mit ein paar mehr Details. Auch ich nehme an, dass du ein Taxifahrer bist?? Als solcher den ganzen Tag in einer Sitzposition zu sitzen, wird nicht helfen. Jetzt gibt es Licht am Ende des Tunnels, aber bitte lass uns die Details wissen, viele von uns hier haben jahrelang gelitten und mit allem gebührenden Respekt vor den Ärzten und Beratern wissen viele von uns aus Erfahrung, dass sie die grundlegendsten Zustände übersehen können und dies die Situation nur frustrierend macht.

I myself have had a few bouts of HP over the years. My symptoms are usually the sickly headache, pain in my chest, back and upper stomach. I also get a weird nerve pain down the back of my upper left arm and burping.
I recently thought the HP was back but tested negative. Interestingly I didn't have the nerve pain but had all the other symptoms with more burping.
An endoscopy found erosive gastritis and after a three months of PPI's and a repeat endoscopy it was almost clear. I still have Some symptoms and suspect the PPI's may be causing them but not sure. A daily probiotic is helping. My theory is that years of HP infections have left me with a sensitive stomach.
I think you need to wait and see if your treatment works Allan, no point in worrying about anything else yet.
Dave, have you any experience of the natural route for HP eradication?

Ich versuche es, aber es ist manchmal schwierig, bei der niedrigsten Dosis zu bleiben und sozusagen zu mischen und zu matchen. Ohne Medikamente habe ich nach 12 Monaten wieder erosive Gastritis wie du, aber das ist eine lange Geschichte. Medikamente = Probleme, keine Medikamente = Probleme, lol. Man muss einfach das Beste aus einer schlechten Situation machen, nachdem man 30 Jahre lang hin und her geschwankt ist. Aber zurück zu Allan, ohne das 99,9%-Ergebnis einer Endoskopie ist dein Arzt wieder im finsteren Mittelalter und rät nur. Es ist nicht schön und meine letzte hat meinen Zustand für über einen Monat verschlimmert (dieses Mal ein bisschen zu grob), aber zumindest weiß man zu 99,9%, was da ist und was nicht da ist. Es ist die einzige Methode, um einen HH zu sehen, und die nächste ist eine CT-Untersuchung mit Kontrastmittel. Ich habe so viele Fälle hier gesehen, bei denen die Ärzte einen nicht zu diesen Tests schicken, und ohne sie raten sie nur, okay, es ist eine fundierte Vermutung, aber sollten wir mit einer fundierten Vermutung zufrieden sein?? Tut mir leid, dass meine Antwort so lang ist. Jetzt nicht in Panik verfallen, das ist nur ein Beispiel dafür, dass Ärzte etwas übersehen, aber es ist zu 100% korrekt und wahr. Die Cousine meiner Schwiegermutter ist gerade gestorben, nachdem ihr Arzt ein Bauchspeicheldrüsenkrebs (Pancreatic Cancer) über ein Jahr lang übersehen hat! Die Praxis-Schwester musste eingreifen, als sie gelb wurde, und trotzdem sagte der Arzt, alles sei in Ordnung!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with some doctors lack of attention. I went for years to my GP with sciatica and they diagnosed piriformas syndrome due to arthritis in my hip. Just x-ray no MRI.
It got so painful I was given a hip replacement still no MRI. 9months later with excruciating pain and 5 months physio for my hip I was given an MRI.
My physiotherapist had been sending me back and forwards to the GP because of saddle numbness and suspected spinal problems to no avail, he just kept upping the Gabapentin. When I started to have bladder problems she got the results of the MRI and found it was severe spinal stenosis and cord compression she told me to go to casualty if I had another accident.
That weekend I had another bladder accident and went to casualty. I was given an emergency Laminectomy. Dread to think where I would be now if that physiotherapist hadn't stuck her neck out. As it is I have some nerve damage.
Since then I have also had a lumber discectomy and 3 months ago a 2 level anterior cervical discectomy.
Perhaps you might know why before endoscopy they ask if you've had major surgery? As I've had 4 surgeries in 3 1/2 years I'm wondering if this has anything to do with my gastritis.
