Lump in groin (scared)

Hi there, I'm 18 years old and about a month ago, I noticed a lump in my groin while I was in the shower. I initially thought nothing of it as I thought it was a boil (felt like one, but was skin coloured no pus or redness etc). I was really anxious and pressed it a lot and around 2 days later it started to feel really swollen and inflamed. The skin hurt when it rubbed against my underwear. I went to a doctor and she said it was an infected cyst and gave me 3 days of antibiotics. The antibiotics helped with the inflammation a little but the lump was still there. I got anxious and started pressing it again and it got worse the day after (really swollen and big). Visited another doctor after that and he agreed that it was a cyst and maybe some swollen lymph nodes from infection. He said it was fine since there was pain and didn't give meds because he thought my immune system was fighting it well. Fast forward 2 weeks, the lump is smaller now (it feels kinda like a flat lump rather than a round ball) and there isn't any more pain but the skin still remains swollen. Could it be cancer? I'm just scared because I have a pretty large mole near the area that I've had since I was a toddler but I read stuff about melanoma spreading to nearby lymph nodes and I'm terrified. Also terrified of lymphoma. Please let me know your thoughts.

If you have an infection or illness, such as a cold, flu, or mononucleosis, your groin lump could be a swollen lymph gland. Typically, these will flare up at the same time as the lymph glands located in your throat or armpits flare up
