i used to suffer with tonsillitis, i began developing large and painful lumps on my tongue- i would get two in total, on on left side and one on right. my tonsils were removed however this weird what i call ’ tongue tonsillitis’ continues to reoccur. having to have antibiotics every few months which i dont think does much, cant eat or talk for the few days its at its worse and get fevers and fatigue. my doctors can never offer me an appointment to see the problem in time ( waiting list of two weeks) so i end up just getting antibiotics from a random emergency gp. any ideas why this keeps happening and what it is??

Has anyone suggested this may not be a bacterial infection so wont respond to antibiotics? I wonder if this is oral thrush,so you need an antifungal. Ask your pharmacist for something like Daktarin gel.
You may have had a bacterial infection first but over use of antibiotics has caused a fungal infection to develop. Its worth trying an anti fungal preparation anyway.
