Hi,
so I've had symptoms for a while now, the current symptoms have been since around January, and to cut a long story short, I've had ct scan recently which has shown lymph glands in my neck and stomach. My other symptoms include an awful rash on my neck/chest area which had to be treated by dermatologist, and chest pain, stomach pain and constipation, itchy legs, and fatigue/general malaise. The doctor has now said that they are not sure what the cause is of the lymph glands or the other symptoms as there is nothing else on scan apart from them, and I don't know what to do now, as I've got to have another scan in a couple of months time.. Do I ask to see a lymph/blood specialist? or have more blood tests (haven;t had any since March)? or ask for biopsy? not sure what to do as still feeling poorly and got to wait again!
Hi Jess I don't know your sex or age so it's difficult to suggest however from what you describe I think your GP should do some extensive blood tests to find out why you have these problems. If your a woman, do you have dry eye or mouth? Is the rash on your face, if it's itchy is could be due to many things. Try not to worry but please see your GP and ask him to test you for inflammatory markers. This will help to get to the bottom of what is wrong.
I'm female and 21! No dry mouth or eyes, why? No rash isn't on face, only really on neck/chest, occasionally arms/legs. I think they did test that in March but no blood tests since!
Jess I have just read your post again, go to your GP, please ask him to test you for an ANA this is a special test for autoimmune diseases.if you have a positive ANA then he will send you to a rheumatologist who will do further tests. If you have dry mouth, eyes and vagina look ups Sjögren's syndrome. If your rheumatologist suggests this there is a charity to support those with this problem. It may be something else so please do see your GP you are no being a nuisance your are feeling poorly
Well dear that's a relief Jess are your periods normal? Your lymph problems and constipation may be related to something to do with a hormone imbalance!
They are heavy and last longer at the moment! Ok what would that do?
Ok It's very late and I'm tired but I am going to ask you some questions they may sound rude, it will help if you relate to any or some, are your periods very painful, do you have really bad acne, are your periods regular, are they very heavy, do you have any family history of Psoriasis, if you have acne do you have it in funny places like yor bum, do you have hair growing on your face, are your breasts very painful, do you have lumps under your arms, is the pain in your tummy, are your bowels normal, if they are but sometimes you have a runny gum other times constipation, do you crave sugar, do you eat fast food, do you prefer to sit because you feel tired or do you exercise, are you a veggie, do you drink alcohol, do you have skin tags, do your parents put on weight easily, do you. If any of the above fit you look up PCOS and if that relates to you see your GP and tell him you need to go to an endocrinologist 💤💤💤
And, to add to what Pam has said, are you still seeing the Dermatologist? That is another avenue to explore. My Dermatologist is very keen on his bloods and is like a dog with a bone when there is something that he can't immediately explain.
If you are already under him, then you shouldn't have to wait too long to see him again.
Hi, so sorry I'm just replying!! I do sometimes have tummy ache with my periods but not lots but I do have heavy periods that last a week when they don't normally, I don't have any acne, although I do keep getting spots/rashes on my legs, no family history of psoriasis but my grandma did have an immune disease to do with rheumatology and lymph glands. Yes to hair on face but I think that's normal, no lumps under arms, I do get tummy pain and I have constipation all the time. I am normally very energetic but for past few months not and all I seem to do is sleep. I'm not a veggie, I drink some alcohol and I don't put on weight easily. What is an endocrinologist? Should I not ask to see a haematologist maybe or ask for a biopsy of lymph?
Hi, thanks for your message. No they said I might be seeing them again if I get any more severe rashes, but they've never done any blood tests at hospital. I just don't know what to do as I am having scan in 3 months but feel that's too long to wait. What should I do?
Has anyone done a blood test on you Jess?
Perhaps you should go to your GP and ask for some general blood tests because you are worried and, as you say, 3 months is a long time to be worrying about something.
Hi Jess are you double jointed by any chance!
Hi yes I will get more blood tests I think, all previous have been normal though! and no I'm not double jointed!
