I am suffering with major health anxiety. I had my first anxiety attack a year ago and i have had a few since the first time. Aftet the attacks i started having constant chest pain and became very focused on my heart, thinking that i had heart issues. So over this last year i had 3 ekg's, 2 chest xrays, a lot of blood work and an echo cardiogram done by a cardiologists , everything comes back fine. I still cant believe everything is ok. Im 6.0ft 270lbs not all fat, i use to be really in shape and still have alot of muscle but not in that great of shape, have a bad diet and i smoke. My blood work comes back very good every time, cholesterol nice and normal. So in my head, with me being over weight, a smoker, having chest pain, chest tightness, constantly feel out of breath, how could something not be wrong?
It's anxiety however, I would stop smoking and workout. Even if you just power walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Also, are you on any anxiety meds?
Yes i just started taking 10mg lexapro about a week ago
I am literlly the same exact way. i have constant fear over my heart& i get heart palpitations.. my cardiologist told me that there is no reason for him to be seeing me anymore because i'm fine. i got so much bloodwork done and everything. i can't process incmy head that i am okay. i even wake up with anxiety.. hoping it all passes one day., we just have to be stronger then what it is and fight it. all it is is a build up of fear. it's never really there until our minds make us think it's there. anxiety sucks.. goodluck hope you beat it!
Yes even when your not thinking about it as subconsciously it's prob still there when I've been at my worst I would have tight chest feeling like am being crushed shortness of breathe it's actually because we don't realize it but we breathe different when we are stressed or anxious you tend to breathe from chest and not stomach doing some breathing excersises a usually just type it into YouTube and lie down and do them as a actually feel better or go walk round the block for fresh air i also suffer from
Health Anxiety it's not nice
I have the same thing you do
I'm 26 I am now day 8 Smoke free but I have smoked since age 14 so I'm scared of the damage
That I may have done already
I just finished a 48 hour heart montor and echo waiting on my results
Since I stopped smoking my heart rate is lower resting 55 and 60 sometimes 52
When most of the time it would be 90 and 100
So now my health anxiety is threw the roof
Only thing we can do is try to trust the doctors and pray.
I have the feeling of pounding heart and palpitations... it isn't any fun
