I am interested in how this varies.
I had my first ever one two weeks ago and the information leaflet says will receive a letter within two weeks which is not true. I rang today to query to be told posted today but second class so be a few days before you get. As far as they are concerned have got results in two weeks as read and sure if problem contacted you before now - this was some clerk or other.
What is other people's experience of this so called service?

Hi there that's what I was told but I recieved a call after three days asking me to come back the next day if you havnt heard from them it might be a good sign that you are clear good luck

Thanks. Tend to feel late as making further appointments. As you say hopefully means OK but worry is being extended with no apparent need as a timeframe is a timeframe and not to stick to it is cruel.
Letter in post less than a week as they found two tumours, the longer it takes then the less I would worry. I am In. Uk. If your in different country may be different.
given that this is a busy time of the year for the postal service, letters might take a bit longer to arrive than usual. as the other posters have said - and as the clerk told you, if there was a problem then they would have called you in earlier.
so please try not to worry.
That is even more terrifying as this is their normal timescale and one they can't see a problem with. So far as they are concerned we sent it out on the very last day of the two weeks, oh and second class so be several days.
This is my first ever one so of course I am getting more and more scared as feel either look at things last minute, seen something wrong and making appointments before send letter or hiding something

Been told due to very low risk breast lesions and that the follow-up mammogram is mostly for observation.
GP said that often the most prudent measure for a very low risk finding is simply to 'observe' the suspected lesion on subsquent mammograms, at intervals ranging from six months to a year.
I have a large painnful lump in my left breast , the mamogram said , negative , the doctor quickly dismissed it as nothing , Im not so sure , any thoughts ? Im worried

Ask for 2nd opinion if your not happy. It could be a swollen gland, they can do a biopsy to check it out.
