Menopause and Ear/Throat Problems! Am I alone???????

Hey ladies; I am post menopausal (and thank goodness for this forum as it really does help all of us going through this to help with knowing we are not alone)! For the most part I thought my symptoms were over. I am 52 and my periods ceased a year and a half ago. Here are my new issues and praying I am not alone with these as hate running to the doctor (who is pretty much worthless) anyway. I do have tonsil stones so at first I was thinking those nasty little buggers (who as of the last year have been getting worse so I am digging them out weekly). Ladies, any of you with............. *Pain on right side of throat. I do not have issues with swallowing in fact that makes it feel better. It feels like stickers back there. *Ear pain (deep) on that same side that comes and goes. It's hard to explain but it's short and intense then goes away when it feels like. It's almost like a nerve or something. *Hurts in front of that ear sometimes too and also jaw aches from time to time. Of course I am thinking I have CANCER but I am not hoarse, I do not have issues with swallowing, I am not losing weight, I am not nauseated, I am not having any other symptoms other than being stuffed up (slightly) and sneezing off and on in the mornings. I have NEVER had issues with allergies so just trying to figure this all out as Dr. Google is driving me insane (lol). Anybody?

yes ma’am, I’m dealing with the jaw and ear pain as we speak. It is most likely allergy related. I know several women who have developed allergies while going thru meni and they had never had them before. its different for everyone but with you being stuffed up and sneezing that would be my guess. I take zyrtec once a day and it has made a world of difference, not only with allergies but with the off balance and dizzy feeling as well. my allergist told me that yes…allergies can cause you to feel off balance and dizzy. Who knew?! hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon!

hey leisa
I dont have tonsil stones as I have no tonsils lol. but over the last few months suffered with my left ear it hurts deep inside, it also comes and goes I was thinking of asking my doctor to refer me to ent, so I know how you feel. I also dont have trouble with swallowing but feel like I have a lump in my throat, i suffer with health anxiety so this just makes me worse. Google is my worst nightmare i Google literally everything and it scares me to death. my biggest fears are also cancer which i have diagnosed myself with countless times. but the thing that’s scarying me the most is my fear of dementia, my memory is absolutely shocking, I know other ladies going through menooause have trouble with the same thing, but googling my symptoms has made me worse. anyway as you said yourself, you’re not hoarse you dont feel sick and you’ve lost no weight and not struggling to swallow. I’m pretty positive you do not have cancer. its probably hormonal. its amazing what symptoms it causes. hope you feel better soon xxx

Awe, thanks Ladies!

Lisa you must be my sister from another mister!

Susan, do you sometimes have a pokey feeling on that side of your throat! My lymph nodes are not swollen so I can’t figure it out.

I just snorted some nasal stuff they had given my husband and I have not had or felt anything all day so maybe something is blocked?

Who knows but would be interested to hear if anybody else has these issues.
