i have been having elevated heart rate, tight chest, feel winded. It does come and go. i have had EKG’s done, been to ER. My doctors all say it is hormonal. Started fresh with a new provider and found out I have 0 (seriously) estrogen, low progesterone and low testosterone. Ive been on compounded hormone cream for almost five weeks and while the awful symptoms went away for a few days, they have come back again. I requested a referral to see a cardiologist in a few weeks. Does anyone elae have these symptoms? Sometimes I also get pain in my left rib that goes into my back. I will be 49 tomorrow.
Hi Kara
Yes to all of these along with palpitations and skip beats fluttering very scary. Have had echo and cardiologist says all ok but still can’t help stressing. I am post meno 5
years and still get symptoms. try to stay calm and allow it to pass I know it is easier said than done. Take slow deep breaths to regulate your breathing. When we go through menopause all of our body is affected including airways and lungs but is not dangerous just accept it is how you are for now and its just your hormones. I also suffer with daily dizziness and off balance which causes me much anxiety.
Left rib issues for years - flares and goes into back as well. Had 2 CTs over the years, ultrasound, and XRays…no answers. Had me really worried early on and after 5 years of it ongoing, I’ve conceded that it must be part of my peri-menopause journey. Some theories I’ve had (other than the scariest thoughts), costochondritis, a rib out of alignment (I’ve just recently read up on a more rare situation where chiro can help this), and lastly the flex area of the intestines/colon that is quite a tight area for the digestion process. At times I can actually press in that area and feel a little pop up spot, as though I’ve got a little hard bubble in that region that “pops”. It has travelled around to my mid/high back over the years too. Hope it gets better for you.
(I have also had period of elevated/racing heartbeats, pounding, fluttering etc - I’m sure many women have experienced this on this site too - again, many tests…no clear answers)
