Mild diffuse bilateral bronchial wall thickening

Hi, I'm trying to understand the radiology report from my CT scan.

Tracheobronchial Tree:  Centrally patent.  Mild diffuse bilateral bronchial wall thickening.  

Any idea's what this could be?

Hi ben1994, I quit smoking 5 years ago, smoked off and on for 20 years.

I would imagine the smoking is probably the cause. If so, then now you've stopped smoking it wont get any worse.

Thanks ben1994, that's reassuring, have an appt with my pulmo on Monday to get his interpretation of the CT Scan, hope that you're right!
