Mini monovisão após cirurgia de catarata

My left (non dominant) eye has had a monofocal iol lens implanted for full distance. In fact it is slightly over corrected: +0.5 sphere (strength) and -0.5 cylinder (astigmatism).

Would it work to have a slightly weaker iol lens in my right eye, to achieve mini-monovision, when the op is done next year, given that the right eye is dominant ?

I suppose I could have a subsequent laser adjustment, but think there may be risks involved, especially as I am highly myopic.

It worked for me perhaps because the difference of 1/2d is so small.  Check with your doctor.

I have just received a new spectacle lens (-15) for my right eye, which gives in-focus vision from distant to reading, yet my left eye, which has a monofocal iol lens can only focus on distance.      I cannot work out why!

I am 63 and have only a tiny amount of accommodation left ? I can only think the reason is that

a) the spectacle lens corrects my mild astigmatism (-075) or

b) because the spectacle lens acts differently because it is so much stronger than the iol?

I don't think slight under-correction of the spectacle lens is the reason, because using +1 reading glasses with my left eye still doesn't produce this range of focus.
