I was diagnosed with anxiety about 7months ago. It started with heart pounding symptoms and I thought I was having a heart attack. Doctors ruled out any potential problems with my heart.
Lately I've been terrified of the idea of having a stroke . Last night I woke up with numbness in my arm. Spent all day with numbness that comes and goes. I started running my elbow and found a very painful spot. Has anyone ever had anxiety and numbness/pain like this before? I don't know if this is an emergency or not. I'm waiting for it to pass because I don't want to go to the ER again and have them tell me it's anxiety...
Yes I actually had it a lot.. my left arm would go numb or even sometimes feel a little heavy like it was had to move. But then eventually would subside. I was scared it was a heart attack or stroke but now I just get tingling sensation in both hands and sometimes arms.. your not alone ..❤️

If you prod yourself, it may hurt, you will be be pressing on nerve points. Sometimes these days the young generations are very thin as well, this means the tendons shiefs and nerves are very close to the surface of your skin
Looking at your concerns, your GP has tried to calm you with His diagnosis, the problem you have is you begin looking for problems, this now leads you to consider you have had a Stroke this is not the case, although if you need to have Your diagnosis confirmed right or wrong talk again with your GP.
Numbness and pins and needles are common, they can surface if you have been resting in a poor position where you have been pressing against nerves or blood supply.
Your conditions are not hospital events, before going to hospital discuss your concerns with your GP.
Try flexing your arm and rotating it, even rubbing it will help.
You sound like you have Anxiety, when you see your GP explain your fears, possibly your GP will try and move you on from your fears.
You need to ask yourself what can the hospital do, that the GP cannot advise.upon.
Anxiety basically causes patients to be over sensitised to general health concerns, you really need to gain confidence in your own wellbeing, to understand rare health concerns are just that, understand your problems and eventually you will move on and enjoy your Life

Hello Jean, tingling in your arms is attached to your Anxiety. You need to consider why your arms tingle ?
Most times it will be caused by either restricting the movement of your arms. If your arms are this as mentioned below nerves etc become close to your skin. If you are cold the same applies. to your hands

Did you sleep on your arm wrong or have you hit it on anything
I usually sleep on the side where its numb
Thank you. It's nice to know that I am not alone in these sensations
Thank you so much for your advice. I calmed a bit after reading it
I'm right there with you. I haven't been able to relax because of small aches and pains in my body, especially since I went to the hospital for a possible heart attack, when it was a panic attack. I keep feeling muscle aches and I feel like there's a blood clot moving through me, keeps me tense.
I feel the same about blood clots. I'm constantly focusing on it and it makes me panic. I hope you find relief soon.
Me too. I go into the doc in early May. Hopefully I'll have my answers then.
Speaking of strokes, my mind drifted to the thought of having one while at work today and through. I don't have a reduced sense of touch or coordination (I barely got any sleep last night), but I noticed that there's a very, very subtle weight on the right side of my face, but my face isn't drooping anywhere. I was diagnosed with GAD and go through stress at work. I hate this.....the moment I think I can relax I find something else to worry about. Does anyone experience odd sensations in their face when going through anxiety/stress?
