Mir scan what does it show

I had an mri on my thoratic area of my back as doctors think that it may be causing my symptoms of stomach and rib pain. Does any one know that by doing an mri on this area apart from my spine would this show up my other internal organs??

Hi Neil,
MRI is good for showing muscle and soft tissue problems as well as internal organs, blood vessels etc (anything that’s not bone - although that can be seen too) - gives a better picture of the insides without the radiation of an X-ray. It was extremely helpful in diagnosing a problem I had a couple of years ago (of which I am now sorted) . I am just awaiting results of an MRI myself - but for my head! If it was a bone issue they would probably send you for a CT scan. I hope you find answers (answers are good!).
