Hi Joao

I've been on mirt for 3.5yrs & I can tell you I've piled the weight on everywhere, I've tried, gym, slimming clubs, watching everything I ate or drank & the weight still piled onto me, I could lose a pound or two one week & have 4 pound on the next week, my doctor told me this was due to taking the mirtazapine!

Best wishes

Yes - do a search here in the group. We are all fighting the belly fat.

It's visceral fat that forms around the inner organs. Opposed to fat that is in the upper layers (right under the skin) visceral fat is actually more of an issue when it comes to developing Diabetes II and such.

The medication effs up your metabolism. Something that can stop the weight gain is adding Metformin. I've tried it for the last 6 weeks and the weight gain has stopped. Losing weight is more difficult.

Hi mermaid, interesting to hear about the possible development of diabetes, I'm being tested for it at the moment! Though mirt helped me considerably this mirtazapine drug has a lot to answer for. X
