Has anyone had awful/weird nightmares/dreams on this drug? Its getting do bad for me that I’m afraid to go to sleep.
Hiya, yes all the time. Sometimes not bad dreams just really vivid. Saying that it's the only downside for me. I don't sleep without it, sad to say.
Thanks for your reply Jules . This is getting so bad that my boyfriend had to wake me up AGAIN to tell me that I was screaming "HELP ME HELP ME" . I remember the dream like it wad reality too.I remember all of them. I am willing to give up this med. I'll stick with my Prozac onlyRemeron was just an add on for my lack of appetite I have not only gained a ton of weight but am now having these AWFUL dreams.I even have them if I only take a short nap.
Hi, I'm not sure what your dose is but I find around the 15mg dose the dreams can be very vivid and very strange. Sometimes I have woken up and it takes a short while for my dreams to dissappear completely. I started at 15mg and dreams plus eating lots were bad and when I went up to about 25mg and higher the vivid strange dreams go. Im coming off after a year of being on 45mg and back down to 15 and my dreams are back. The dreams are a normal side effect of this drug im afraid
I was on 3.75 mg for 5 days. I did have strange dreams but i cant remember what exactly they were about, just that they were unsettling. I didn't have nightmares but i get you when you say that you're afraid to go to sleep.
Yes VERY vivid weird dreams. The med helped me sleep, but wayyyy too many side effects. (Major Weight gain, extreme fatigue). I had to come off it. I do hope it works for you.
thank you SO much for your reply It made me feel better actually. I've begun to think that I am losing my mind.
thanks for your reply, Mnair. Were you only on it for 5 days?
yeah i did really bad n is one of the reasons i came off it, been off 3 weeks and 5 days now x
Thanks Rossalynyes- thats why i want off how are you doing since going off of them?
Thank You So MUCH Smiley for your responseI WANT OFF OF THIS but cant seem to get my doc to call me back. I have dropped from 15mgs to 7.5 but cant find out how long before i can stop them completely. I'm frustrated & scared at the same time HOPE this is an easy fix. Stop the drug & no more night terrors
Oh yes!! The worst dreams ever. I was afraid to go to sleep also. I have been off for 6 months mow and thankfully the dreams have mostly gone away.
I thought I was losing my mind too. That is a very scary thing! I would have trouble figuring out which was real, the dream or present time. I honestly thought I was going crazy. All that has mostly cleared up now that I weaned off. I was on it for 4 years. I also got where I could not remember anything.
THANK YOU Darla How long were you on them, what dose & how did you come off of them? I need help. I must not be too important to my psych Dr. Still waiting for a call back
Yes barbara, was getting jolts and twitches while taking this medication.my doctor told me to continue, but it was getting unbearable.
I was on them for 4 years. Gained 30 pounds, had terrible nightmares, couldn't remember anything along with so many other dreadful side effects. I was started at 15mg and never went any higher. I weaned off by cutting a little off the pill each night for 10 months. I would make a cut then stay there for a month or 6 weeks, then another cut. It wasn't easy but so worth it. I have lost 20 of the 30 pounds. The nightmares have settled down greatly and my memory is improving daily. Best of luck getting off. You can do this!
YW Barbara. Yeah I can't blame you there. I couldn't wait to get off the drug. Hopefully you can get through to your Dr. Just a heads up, the lower the dose, the more sedating the drug is. These psych meds are crazy and what they do to our brains. UGH...
Darla, you gained the same amount of weight as me. I weaned off super slow like you but I was only on Mirt for about 6-8 months. I just kept shaving off a little at a time until I got to a speck. Worse drug ever!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!Your responses to me mean more than you know I have only been on them for one month Wondering if I can just stop them now that I'm down to 7.5 mgs
Hi. For me before taking this medication I had vivid dreams every hour then straight after them I would suddenly wake up. My doctor said dreaming a lot then waking frequently is usually signs of depression. But since taking the Mirtazapine I don't dream as much. I usually sleep through to my alarm but don't remember dreaming. If I fall back to sleep after my main sleep that is when I can dream though. But that's only after 6-8 hours sleep.
