Mono Diagnosis & CBC Question

When you all were diagnosed, how did you normal labs look? Was there anything else abnormal. Example, were you white counts high, low, was there anything else along with your EBV/Mono diagnosis that stood out to the doc?

Also, upon Mono/EBV diagnosis, how high was this number: EBV Nuclear Antigen Ab, IgG0.0 - 17.9

Im really just curious. Im 6 months in and i still have a ton of symptoms and i know it takes a while to heal, but im really just curious thats all.

My EBV Nuclear Antigen IgG is 36.1 recently, 8.5 months in. And EBV VCA IgG is 136.

I had low ferritin, low T3. Fixed ferritin, T3 is still low, but my endo told me it’s most likely because of the virus, which messed up with my hormone levels. My IGG was 33 at 5 months, with no EBNA, going to my GP tomorrow to see if these numbers go anywhere. Apart from those, everything else was normal, including liver enzymes.

my blood work was great ! but now after 22 months sick my liver has gone in the red a little .
this could be from all the vitamins ive taken they too go through the liver .

oh yes i forgot my TSH has tanked too but dr feels it will go back up . i have gained a LOT of weight they think due to inflamnation as my diet is excellent.

wow. My EBV VCA was over 300!!

My blood works were all normal though. Normal white count, normal platelets and red count.

my blood work was normal as well. i went to endo and my hormones were off a bit and low testosterone but they said it was due to my depression because of EBV. I had my test re checked again a few months later and it was back up in the normal range.

i dont remember if my ferratin was low im glad you mentioned that i will go back and check my labs.

Hi Worrier,

I felt horrible at six months with good blood work,( my ebv nuclear antigen was 242 at six months.) It took a full year to feel better. I was in my fifties when I got it from my teenage granddaughter.

wow im very sorry for hearing this. i am glad youre making progress

gosh thats a strange diagnosis ? ive never heard of depression affecting hormones or thyroid maybe the other way around ?
Thank God its gone back up ! i hope mine does soon . one less thing for us to worry about .
my hormones have been low for years and ive felt great ?

mine was at 650 got retested months later and it was at something like 642 so gave up testing and just waited to see how i feel . couldnt stand getting a bad result again .

Ive had extremely elevated platelets and liver enyzmes this whole time for some reason.

Yeah thats really high. Im wondering how fast it goes down im sure it will vary from person to person. After 2 months of symptoms mine was around 400 and at month 4 my doc said it was still high at 291. Im now at month 6 and i see no point in testing again.

Well the endo ran an entire panel. Medically i had no hormone or endocrine issues so she said my testosterone dipped because i was severely stressed out and severely depressed. Im 33 year old male so she told me its all in my head. I was pissed at first but after a month of being stress free and improving my moods she was right. It went right back to normal. Medically nothing was wrong with my endocrine system. In other words, my depression and anxiety was severely effecting my testosterone as my brain was telling my body dont produce that much of it right now.

i would re test that after a month or so.

Yeah this has been measured last week, so I’m happy with it, as it seems that the virus is finally subsiding. Six months ago my EBNA was ‘dubious’ or negative. My blood works are all normal as well besides EBV.

had low T and low vitamin D with elevated wbc … Doc mentioned stress being a problem for Low T also… crazy how our bodies adapt and work!

Yea definitely. My T was low as well for my age and i never a low T before this case of EBV. I retested my T after a few months of light excersise, lowered my depression ans increased my moods and stress and my T went back to normal.
