Need advice on scabies infestation

Hi folks.A few weeks ago I was diagnosed with scabies having had incredibly itchy skin for a number of months.I had been to two GP and neither spotted that it was scabies.Eventually I took the matter into my own hands and went to a specialist and instantly saw that it was scabies.She prescribed me Lyclear permethrin cream and a few days later I was itchy again.I do realise that it may have been post scabies syndrome but I wasn't tsking any chances so I went back to her and she prescribed me a second round of permethrin.It appeared to have worked.Bar some minor itching for two or three weeks there was no scabies itching by and large,just post scabies.

However about a week ago I noticed a  more intense itching starting again and red marks appearing.It may have been post scabies but again I was not taking any chances.I went back to the specialist and she said she is 60% sure she thinks the scabies were back.Again I was prescribed the permethrin cream.I applied it two days ago and washed it off yesterday.The thing is I am still getting itchy.It does not seem to have lessened.

Is this normal and has anybody else experienced this?

HI jack,  I have scabies too. say HAVE as I am not sure if they have gone.  I was advised to to apply a second round of Permethrin 7 days later which burnt my hands and i had a allergic reaction to it.  very painful. I have to deal with this before i can carry on.  I agree with Jordans bathing in salt. This really soothes and I think this does the trick.  Maybe try that, but is does hurt as the water is so hot, but you need to do it.  ALSO  wash all your clothes and bedding etc and tumble dry on hot to kill any thing  may be loitering.  Luckily my husband has not got them too as I did this every day.  (and not touching him sad )  Good luck
