New symptoms

for the last couple years I've had a lot of anxiety due to chest and shoulder pain accompanied by shortness of breath after what must be like my 15th er visit in the last 3 years for the same symptoms I finnaly stopped feeling sick and started to believe it was just anxiety like the doctors say. But now my new problem is that out of no where I'll feel part of my face and arms kinda numb and asleep and it'll totally freak me out this usually lasts about 10 minutes before it subdues can all this also be atributted to anxiety?? or should I convince my doctor to run more test?, he believes it's also anxiety.

Hi

Yes what you are now experiencing is anxiety related also. Anxiety has a wonderful way of creating new symptoms once you accept or are rid of the symptoms you were anxious about. It tries to trick you into believing you are ill. I have had palpitations, chest pain, arm aches and pains, pain in right side of face, stomach problems, pain in back and neck, tension headaches,, feeling like I cant get a full breath, dizziness, hot flushes, depersonalisation ....the list could go on and when one symptom goes, up pops another or a few at a time to keep the anxiety fueled if you like. Its never ending and totally debilitating. Therapy and or medication is helpful as is meditation via YouTube and breathing exercises x

Hi Alex, I too joined these forums due to my arm numbness because of my anxiety. I've been to docs and everything always comes back good. So far I've just tried to calm myself and let the pain pass as I try to reassure my mind it is nothing to worry about and I am fine (which I know I am but my body/mind thinks otherwise). I haven't really found a solution, hopefully more people could help us out. I just want you to know you're not alone. I too have a bit of chest/back/arm pain. I try to distract myself by doing things I love. The pain seems to be worse at night when I'm "relaxed". I've been looking up relaxation videos and they help a little, I suggest starting there
