Hi, I am 45 years old and had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago. I am on HRT the patch actually and my menopause symptoms are not too bad except at night. The night sweats are awful. I have not had a good night sleep in months. I do not wear clothes to bed, use a fan, keep the room cool but no matter what I do they bother me all night long. I am exhausted. Any help anyone can give will be appreciated! Thanks! Tammie
Hi Tammy
I feel your pain. I use menopace and red clover tea before bed. its not amazing but i find it does ease it bit. Good luck
hello
my pharmacist recommended dormesan from vogel drops to help with sleep. less stressed less sweats. i take sage tablets at lunchtime any later they affect sleep.
i have water by my bed. i use a relaxation recording when i get into bed.
i let the hot flush happen to my body and dont resist it or let it scare me. i used to get up have the fan on me, sip some water. go off to the loo and come back, by which time the flush was wearing off. i know its hard when they are very frequent at night. i used to get them every hour. i think the dormesan really helped me to fall asleep and then not spring violently awake and fall back to sleep quicker (it used to take me 20 minutes) i also use lavender oil.
obvious stuff about keeping the room cold not just cool, cotton sheet thinest possible duvet to throw on and off all night. i used to get really cold after a flush.
go back to your doctors about it, maybe they can change the hrt to something that works better for you. i cant take hrt, unfortunately.
look at the menopause matters website.
