I've pretty much been housebound for 6 years due to my anxiety. I've tried various medications and several different therapies but nothing seems to be helping.
It's getting to the point where I feel it would be easier just to end it and be at peace.
Anyone have any suggestions or positive stories or just anything to do with getting better?
Life is so very precious. Please don’t waste your gift. Things can get unbelievably tough and just when we want to give up something comes and makes it so much better. I think you need to keep trying... 6 years is a long time but what if in a couple more months you start to feel better? Maybe the therapies aren’t right... You need to keep reaching out and you need to keep going. You’ve got this 😊 you’ll get through this. Believe in yourself and don’t take pity on yourself as I think it makes it worse... We all have an inner strength that’ll get us through anything!!
I'll admit I'm in your same boat right now, ironically enough my anxiety is based around my health and scared of dying yet I have times where I feel like giving up is the better answer. The thing I always have to realize is that family and friends will always care for me and to see me give up and take my life would make them feel just horrible and probably make them feel just as bad as I do right now. Plus I had dealt with other mental issues in the past like severe depression that lasted me 4 years before I finally got full control of it and when I finally got control of it i felt accomplished. I hope you manage to take control of this anxiety and make sure to tell it who's boss just like im tryin to do as well

I suffer with anxiety and depression and I felt like you only a few weeks ago and ended up ringing the Samaritans. What I did was take control, I didn't want to feel this way anymore, I knew life could be better. So I changed my diet, I started to excercise more even when I really didn't want to, I researched different things especially amino acids which have helped (if you do this always check what you can take with any medication you are on). The light is now getting brighter at the end of my tunnel.
Keep going things will get better. Are you taking any medication at the moment?
What do amino acids do? and I'm coming off Citalopram because I don't feel it's helping but I have to take it slow because the withdrawal symptoms are pretty strong.
