Non mesh hernia repair

Has anyone had a non mesh inguinal hernia repair ?   I’m scheduled for the shouldice technique next month.   Any details on what to expect,  would be greatly appreciated    This is my first  operation ever and I’m very very nervous.      Thank you in advance

Thanks for asking this question. I'll be at the Shouldice next month too for inguinal surgery.

 Do you know anyone that had the operation there already ?   Or what about having the shouldice  repair done but not from that hospital
