USA, anterior, RTH, surgery 6/27 at 7am
Today is one day after surgery and I am pain free and very happy to officially join your club!
surgery went well and I was not scared! I had spinal and light sedation. Heard nothing and woke after it was completed.
now I'm sorry I waited and suffered so long. Up and walking a couple of steps yesterday. Pt had me doing bed exercises right away, foot pumps, butt squeezes, thigh squeezes, set of 3 (10 in a set) hold for 3 seconds each squeeze.
thank you for all your well wishes and encouragement!
i will continue to update!
I had the same experience! Feels wonderful!! Happy for you, speedy recovery!!
Erika
Well done speedy recovery :-) xx I'm day 5 today and having a rest day overdid it a bit yesterday !!!Be careful with that as it knocks you back:-( xx
Debbi1949,
I am on day 14. Walking on my own in the house with a cane outside. I am still taking tramadol two in morning one in afternoon and two at night. Starting to cut back on these. I am also taking mussel relaxers two ,two, and two. I think these help a great deal. Listen to your body it will tell you when you've done to much. Good luck. Red
Good Luck with everything from North Carolina.
Yesterday, I had my last 2 pre op appts. My surgery is 7/25. My first THR went great (1/2013), I expect the same success (I hope) !
Keep up the rehad exercises as well as you can !!
Thank you to all that replied!
Rich it will go well for you again! I will do all excercises they give me

Hi Debbie It sounds as if you are doing awesome. So glad you are getting such good pain relief. Be careful. Be well
Congratulations Debbie and welcome to hippiedom.
Keep up with your exercises - it helps rebuild muscles and connections to new bone and ... helps reduce cramping at night.
Let us know if you struggle - lots of HR advice ready at the waiting! Just for you!
Graham taught many of us to use our cellphone alarm to manage meds- don't let the pain get ahead of you 8as it can be hard to dial back. He has summarized an amazing amount of advice on his site - worth a good read and reread when you need advice too.
Take care, sending hugs for any tough patches and ... oh yeah - your family and friends are meant to pamper you. This surgery is tough and you need to be distracted and encouraged to manage the pain, do the exercises and be patient. Full recovery takes a while, but it is soooo worth it!
welcome home ... that really was quick - Will PT come to your house ?
(I was a L.A. woman for 34 years and now back in Holland - I am so homesick -)
how are you doing?
be gentle with yourself - how
angel blessings
Yes, pt is coming tomorrow (Thursday). My husband is a huge help. The only pain seems to be my thigh muscle. I'm on some narcotic that I can't remember the name of right now. I walk a little in the house every hour , do my exercises and elevate and ice. Thanks!
