Hi I'm 27 male uk.i got told I had gastritis beginning of march,so I got tested for hpylori and tested positive so I started the antibiotics two weeks course at the end of march.ive been omeprazole since that finished and I'm still getting bad stomach pains mainly upper left side under ribs and in the middle where ribs meet below sternum,and sometimes other places on abdominal area.could this be the omeprazole doing this ? I have a lot of gas and it smells and my stool are quite loose not runny just softer and breaks up.
I suffer really bad with anxiety at the min and I'm constantly thinking the worst I've been googling 😳 I wish I never did all my symptoms lead to stomach,pancreatic,or liver cancer I can't get it out my head so worrried..ive seen 6/7 different GPs and none of them are worried and I have had all sorts of blood tests done and the all fine for example
CRP-test for inflammation
Lipease-pancreas test these are just two ive had but I've had a lot more.
I have a one year old boy I'm just so worried I'm not gonna watch him grow up..
Have you had an endoscopy to determine your gastritis ,I have been diagnosed with gastritis over 10 years ago and I tested negative for hyperlori ,I have been taking omeprazole ever since ,try not to worry too much gastritis isn't pleasant but if kept under control you will be fine ,the antibiotics may clear yours and then you may not even need the omeprazole ,if you are anxious you may google omeprazole and see lots of negative remarks about it but as I say I have been taking it every day for over 10 years and have had no side effects. Hi,no not had a endoscopy.it was a blood test where I tested for the antibodies of hpylori.the stomach pain comes and goes.my anxiety is just getting the better of me and making me think the worst
Your anxiety is possibly making your gastritis worse ,hopefully the omeprazole will help
I've been on them for a while now.the stomach pain is better than what it was.i get back ache sometimes I can only think it's all related and has been getting me down because I'm constantly worrying about the worst.tgank you for replying
Same with me, taking antacids and PPIs for 6years now almost and no side effects, nothing, just can eat everything I want. My problem is too much stomach acid and the PPIs are like magic pills
My gp seems to think that's the case with me now too much stomach acid

I have also chronic gastrit with H.pylori positive! I have taken 1 week antibiotic and then continued by omprazole! For sure omparazole has side effect especialy for long time using!
have you lost weight? I have lost 6 kg in 4 months which made me so worry but I found others with rapid losing weight! I became crazy for that!
I hope you get well soon but it is amost long way to go for us to completly recover!
