One sided breast pain with Fibro?

Do any ladies out there have a gnawing, aching, throbbing, burning type pain in only one breast? My left breast has been bothering me now for close to month. At first I thought it was Costochondrits & I guess it still could be but lately I am not quite sure. My ribs are sore when pressed but nothing to what I have read about the pain should be. The pain is definately in the breast, not coming from under/behind. All tests have come back clean....I'm at a loss, anyone?

Hi Pam,

I have only recently been diagnosed with fibromilga, but one of the pressure points the consultant push was under my left Breast. When he touched it I jumped off the chair and could of hit him. It hurt so much. I do have pain I'm my ribs in that area and and aching in my breast too. It hurts to wear a bra against it sometimes.

I thought I'd reply so you know your not the only one!

I too have these pains and only in my left breast/the surrounding area!

I can't wear a bra it's too painful both under my breast and the breast itself but it varies one side or the other.

like the others I have only just been diagnosed but in Gems words I nearly punched the Dr too, so get the pain in the ribs but the other thing I have in my breast (only one side) is nipple pain, as though it's cold but not cold at all, a sharp pain then seems to shoot from the left of me boob to the nipple over the next few days, then it goes again. There is no pattern to this. How often do you get the pain?

Yes....whenever I have my yearly mammogram...boy it hurts..feel like yelling at the therapist..grr.( she pulls and pushes..no empathy at all) .once it's over though it gradually gets better...doesn't hurt apart from that...have a great day Pam..be blessed

Yes, have the same experience but the pains come and go but usually at the time of my monthly it's at its worst !!

Hi Gem, is your pain constant for weeks or just sporadic pain that come & go?

If I'm poked and prodded then the pain flares up for a while. Otherwise it hurts if I lie on it funny or if I wear anything too tight around my ribs.

No it's constant but comes and goes.

It's NOT constant pain but does come and go especially when I overdo it in day to day tasks. More noticeable during my monthly....

Yes I too get breast pain mostly in the left breast. It can last about a month and usually the surounding area is very tender as well. It does get worse during my cycle. Some months no pain and others excruciating pain. My main problem lately , for months, is pain in my upper left arm. Nothing is helping me either other then heating pad. My dr. Wants me to try amatriptaline but im hesitant.

I wish us all some pain relief soon.

yep i have this too, usually in the left breast. pain was so bad my doctor sent me for tests on my heart but all came back fine.  In the end the consultant surmised it could be inflamation in the joints of the chest walls as it hursts more when i breathe which stopped me worrying so much, your pain sounds exactly the same.  I haven't had the pain for over a year but then it came back last week, no idea why it comes and goes but I dont worry about it anymore.

I also have pain on and off in my breast, but not always the left. When it's bad it even hurts when I breathe. the only relief is to put some pressure on it which is painful too! The whole of the surrounding area is also painful too. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to this. I have only just been diagnosed with Fibro, but I have had these pains for years at intervals.

Poor you PhilPala, it's usually the case, we suffer lots of issues and get treated for them seperately years before we ever get a diagnoses ....be encouraged once you get sorted this does go into a remission..then there is intermittently the flare  ups ..much better than having the symptoms all and everyday too..I've had Fibro over 22 years now and that's been myexperience, which I can only talk about, but many others have said this too...have a lovely weekend..be blessed.- xxxxx there us often no pattern at all to many of our issues with Fibro.,so be encouraged= take courage and keep on blogging?!!  Your input is really important to someone, even if you think it's notxxxxx

Yes I too have pain and itching in my left breast..Guess its another symptom of our friend Fibro

Hi Pam sorry for not replying sooner. The pain I get lasts for minutes to hours. Literally some days it's several times, quick sharp pain then nothing, then other days it wake me up and stays all day. Reading on it seems to be part of Fibro. You've had tests, but has the Dr just left it at that? All tests ok so go away? Hope you've found some relief, heat then ice the heat swapping over every ten mins works for my pain just as if I'd strained a muscle, be careful with both heat and cold, ensure if you use it you can stand the temp on your forearm first or you could hurt yourself .x
