Does this sound normal? I started actually on 25 mg immediate release tabs for 3-4 days, no problem. I'm about to go on vacation & don't want to have any bad side effects while I'm gone. Doing well on 75. Should I wait till vacation is over to bump up to 150?

Ur body hasnt adjusted to thismed yet so I wud b very apprehensive about upping already. I think thats way too fast but I’m not a Dr or anything close to that. Lol. Speak with a pharmacist b4 you do that!!!!!!

Just to add —Doc wanted me to start the 150 in 2 separate doses. 75 in morning & 75 at night.
I took 75mg for two weeks then 150mg. I don't know if it is right to go up that fast but I only got some benefit after four weeks of 150mg so the more you take might be better but I felt worse for a month on 150mg then better and side effects are bad at first but if you are ok on 75mg you might not feel the side effects on 150mg because they started as soon as I took the first one.
Did you come off another anti depressant? If you did, and it was quite a high dose, this may be the reason why, they recommended a quick switch and increase. Saves your depression plummeting, if you were on another, on a high dose.
I would stay on 75 for at least 6 weeks. I have been on 75 for 17 days now was on 37.5 for 5 days. You might not need more takes 6-8 weeks for full improvement on each dose?
Thanks everyone for your replies! I weaned myself off Prozac 30 mg (low dose) that I was on for 15 years but didn’t do it under a Drs advise. Weaned WAYYYYY to quickly. 2 weeks after I was fine then BAM. Horrible withdrawal with full blown anxiety. Finally went to see a psychiatrist who is having me start the Effexor but I’m thinking that going to 150 from 75 in only s few days is too soon. And like I said I don’t want to be sick over vacation. I will give her a call & ask why she thinks I should bump up so quickly. After only 3 days on 75.

20mgs of Prozac is equivalent to 75mg xl once a day or 75mg ir twice a day
I didn’t get side effects until the second week of 75XL but you might get none.

I am mostly dealing with bad anxiety. I got stomachache and headache loss of appetite
Thats exactly what I had in between coming off prozac & starting the Effexor. Was also given Klonopin 0.5 two times a day to help tame the horrible anxiety & loss of appetite, insomnia side effects. It did help. Hopefully these will subside for you very soon, seeing you've been on them for 18 days or so now. Were you on anything else prior to this or is this your first med?
Zoloft worked beautifully for me for 23 rears and pooped out .tried Prozac for 8 eeeks made me nervous didn’t help then tried Lexapro didn’t help.
Been on 75 for 18 still have anxiety ready to try elavil. did Prozac poop out for you?
I'd wait, and I wouldn't increase unless your anxiety/depression increases.
