Pain gel

have anyone tried diclofenac sodium gel?

I can’t take it due to blood pressure tablets. but I wish

yes. For elbows where it works ok. never had luck with it on my knees, Are you trying to use it post op for swelling or some other way?

HI Gayle
have found it useful for painful muscles on its own ,if my hip joint is playing up as well I use it at the same time as taking solpadeine max , mainly at night or if I am at home as the tablets can make you a bit sleepy.
Hoping that you find relief

Yes, been using the gel for years. Doesn’t kill the pain but certainly on my knees, particularly before bed. Am nearly 5 months post right tkr and i find it can help. just massaging it around the knee. Also helps my left knee which I’m supposed to also have tkr. Not rushing to do that just yet. i take b.p tablets but thr computer never shows a clash with these and the declofenac/voltaren gel.

it

i have never tried it but i do recommend massage, i am 6 weeks post tkr and i have just seen my osteopath and have had accupucture and i find it amazing at chilling out the muscles and my ham string which is very tight at the moment i think give anything a go its worth a try

I’ve used it from time to time. It didn’t do anything for my knees before surgery, but has helped after. I think it’s unlijelt to penetrate far, but helps with soft tissue oain that’s nearer the surface.

that should read ‘unlikely’ not unlijelt!

im 10 weeks out and i put on some house shoes with a special made for me insole for tge first time. within a few hours i could tell my knee and hip was starting to ache, now two days later it hurts and im limping a little

It is very early, I think you should expect pain and even swelling. I am 13 months post and still have stiffness and pain.

I tried it but was disappointed with the results…waste of money for me.

yes and it did nothing for me i have tried it 4 times but as you know everyones different

did nothing for knee pain, it cannot penetrate deep enough to have any affect

In the US it’s called Voltaren Gel and is by prescription only. Worked pretty well for me using it around 3x/day. Gotta wait for the incision to heal before using it on that spot. Fine for the back of the knee and the rest of the leg.

Second only to “Lotion” available in cannabis-legal states. That stuff is the absolute best. Pain gone in five minutes.

did you have to use it for a while before it became effective??

Gotta use it 3-4 X/day or as the doc tells you. Pretty much works in about 15 minutes. Remember…it is an anti-inflammatory not a painkiller. So it might take a few days of regular use to reduce the inflammation and see some results.

When I used it i had to be careful not to take tylenol within tge same 24 hour period.

Yes, there are interaction warnings so check before you use it. Very rare but be careful.

I’m having great troubles with my legs’ joints and Diclofenac is doing ok for me.
It works fast and momentarily gives a refreshing feeling.
