Pain in my ear and jaw

I have a terrible pain in my left ear and the passed few days my jaw and bottom of my mouth had been aching. I have taken painkillers and the pain reduses but it returns if i dont take them,so im quite concerned. I have not been to the doctor yet as i gave just began my exams so innitially I thought it was stress related but now i think its something else. Any advice

Also my hearing has not been great the passed few days

It could be myofascial pain disorder usually known as TMD, but probably worth checking with a doctor as soon as you can.

It sound like TMJ but it isn't possible to diagnose you over the Internet. I would definitely go and see your doctor.

Hi If it's TMJ then can be stress related and causing teeth grinding at night in sleep and this puts huge pressure on the jaw joints which causes the ache. If so can try tranquillisers and having a mouth guard fitted by your dentist for sleep hours which prevents the grinding. Should clear a lot with help IF it's as suspected. So it's a doc visit first for his diagnosis though. Hope soon clears up.

It is advisible to see your GP, as it has not gone away. I would not relate doing exams as the reason for this, yes stress can cause health related issues. Never let anything related to around your head, chest and back go on checked.

sounds like you may have a sinus, and maybe an ear infection. you need to go see your doctor.

Sounds like the problem I have which appears to be TMJ.  The result of clenching teeth and grinding them at night.  Sometimes the pain in my ear is very bad.  I was told to try to relax your jaw in the day and never have your teeth together except when eating.  Supposed to try to manage the pain yourself.  You might be best to check it out with your doc. though.

sorry I forgot to say, take a visit to your dentist who will Be able to advise whether it is TMJ or not.
