For the past 6 weeks or so I've been having on and off rectal bleeding, pain around my liver and lower abdominal pain, also a change in my bowel movements, (my iron levels are also a bit low and wcc high) around 3 weeks ago I noticed a white worm around 1.2cm long on the toilet paper so I took a worming tablet and haven't seen anything since but my symptoms haven't subsided, I've noticed white seed like things in my stool no idea what they are and tonight there were black specks on my stool and it smelt awful (sorry tmi) could this be a parasitic infection or I'm worried it could be something worse e.g colon cancer
Also feeling a bit nauseous have bouts of constipation and diarrhoea is this common with parasitic infection?
Your white cell count indicates your body is fighting an infection of some kind. I would first go and see a doctor that can run a series of tests on you. Asking without seeing a Dr is just a guessing game. I would suggest you go and see an infectious disease specialist.
Hi. It does sound to me a parasitic infection but im not a Dr. Im concerned about the rectal bleeding and liver pain. I would recommend a trip to the Dr. with the symptoms that you are having. Please write back after your Dr. appointment.
Would parasites cause rectal bleeding?
I read somewhere on the internet that they can cause rectal bleeding in a heavy infestation.
Thanks. I've sent away stool samples had blood done waiting on those results, I've got a colonoscopy and ultrasound booked unfortunately I live in a small area and I can't get in to see the dr until March waiting that long to find out what is wrong with me is torturous.
May the New Year being an end to your torture. I know exactly how you feel as I have been going thru hell for 9 months. I self medicated with albendazole and praziquantel and I must say I have improved somewhat

Well I got my blood and feacal tests back no signs of parasites no blood in my stool but I have raised ALT GGT AST (Liver) so undergoing tests to determine what the problem is there. I can already see 2017 isn't going to be my year lol.
