With my left eye closed there is a dark spot that covers my nose when looking through my right eye. This has only been going on for a day or so. At first I thought there was a problem with my contact lens but changing contacts did not make a difference.
Hi elwinb1, I have branch retinal vein occlusion in my left eye & with both eyes open I can see
very good, but when I close my right eye I have a dark spot close to my central vision..When I look at people from a short distance I can not see their full face.. I have to take eye injections cause according to my doctor there is no cure.. I hope & pray you don't have what I have & I pray yours is curable.. I wouldn't take to look to see a retina specialist...
I actually noticed this with both eyes open And it took a little experimenting to figure out what was going on. I've been very careful with my eyes because I went from 2020 to 20400 in about 6 months when I was 8 years old. Unfortunately right now seeing doctors is not an option. Dallas doesn't have the worlds greatest health care for the unemployed And my disability hasn't kicked in yet.
On a piece of paper draw the shape of an eye. Now draw a arc through the eye at the 2/3 way. The one third section is bright and 2/3 section is dark. This is what I see when I close both eyes. With both eyes open the 1/3 section is dark
Hi Elwinb1,
This seems to be a very serious condition known as retinal detachment. You must immediately visit an eye doctor, preferably a vitreo-retinal specialist. If left untreated, this can deteoriorate into irreversible blindness.
Time is of the essence, rush to the emergency services now.
May God bless you!
