I know this is a strange question. I have had zoladex for 3 months and some HRT due to an excessively large fibroid and some smaller ones.
I was charged for each lot. I was wondering whether others have had to pay. Firslty because a friend of mine had the same treatment and wasn't charged and secondly because I was midiagnosed and only need the treatment as a reault of the misdiagnosis.
I have now had 10 months of continual pain with a fibroid, that is causing so many problems. The zoladex was prescribed to shrink the fibroid, but has been unsuccessful and the fibroid is now bigger than ever.
Having my op finally on Monday and cannot wait, I cannot put up with any more pain it is really getting me down when it is at it's worst.

I used to collect them from the pharmacy, and pay the prescription charge, then take it to my GP for him to administer it. I have never been given one in hospital, even though I asked for one. I suspect this was because of the cost.
That's interesting. I have been having mine at the hospital through the hospital pharmacy. They haven't worked. Just on my way out of surgery and they are still baffled by what I had! No more light on the subject but at least no pain (except the soreness of the op)!

Hope you make a speedy recovery. I started having Zoladex 8 years ago when I was 50, to help me through to the menopause, and avoid a hysterectomy. I wish now that I had a hysterectomy back then, as it took a lot longer than expected. I never had any pain, just horrendous periods, so Zoladex worked brilliantly for me as my periods would stop for 18 to 24 months at a time. Now its just a case of watching and waiting, and fingers crossed!
