So, I've just been diagnosed with PCOS - I've heard a little about it in the past, but nothing substansial. With this in mind, further to talking to my GP about it this week I've decided to do some research. Most of the symptoms: being overweight, prone to oily/spotty skin and so forth I can relate to. However there is something that doesn't make sense to me, everywhere seems to say that PCOS only affects women who have very irregular or barely any periods at all. Throughout June I was on my period for the whole month apart from two days, and then was off for 8 days, and am now back on again. So very very regular (and annoying) periods! Am I alone in this?
Hi when they say irregular they mean anything other than the normal 3 to 5 day period every 25 to 29 days. Yours are very irregular as they are unpredictable and almost constant. I hope you get somewhere with treatment. Good luck
I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS and I had extremely regular periods up until a couple years or so ago. They started to get irregular when I was about 16. I think it just depends on the person and your hormone levels.
I once had a period for 9 weeks! You're totally not alone... but going on a contraceptive pill helps x
but on the same note I also would sometimes not have a period for months on end. Every uterus is unique haha. But seriously try a contraceptive pill as they regulate your hormones. Or like the implant or something, supposedly you don't even get a period with that
