PEs - mehrere Fragen

Hi - I was diagnosed with having several pe's in my right lung 4 weeks ago. I was breathless and had pain down my bright side. My consultant explained that they were caused by the contraceptive pill I was on. I have not returned to work as yet as I am still quite breathless and exhausted - is this normal? I was prescribed riveroxaban as a blood thinner.

I am also due to travel on a short flight from Ireland to London in 3 weeks time. The flight is about 1.5 hours. Any advice on air travel and pe's?

Hi

Have you been given any compression stocking to wear.. i was diagnosed in June still not at work eventually I gave job up..

I asked about flying as we were due to fly in the august was told it was ok as ild have taken blood thinners for work months and as long as I wore stockings for flight should be ok.. do check with gp or consultant as may be too soon.

Ask your Doctor about travel and air pressure!!! Sorry about the PEs and yea I think it's pretty normal to be tired and still short of breath.

Thanks guys -it's all a bit scary! I'm being sent for an ultrasound scan on my heart this week to check whether there may be any problems there causing the breathlessness. Have any of you been sent for one of these in relation to your PE's?

Hi there , I had multiple p.e's in both lungs spectacular amounts according to the specialist ! I had several scans , a ctpa scan , on with the die injected , a scan on heart side of lung/chest and one on heart as well , I think a lot is probably precautionary as p.e can travel round heart side and you may need a stent or something . I have been told after being on riveroxaban for about 8 months that I should wear support socks , stay hydrated and take no flights longer than 4 hours without a break in between .

I still get out of breath a little now , but apparently that's my lungs only working at 77% capacity now after all this has settled 😢

Hope this helps

James

I would ask your dr about air travel. Do you still have your clots or were they able to get rid of them? They left mine and said it would absorb into my body in about 6 months so the breathlessness I could expect to continue as well as the fatigue.
