Hi. New to the forum. Has anyone with under active thyroid felt that their symptoms have worsened during the peri-menopause state and if so any advice. Levels all good. On the right dose, but tiredness is a real issue. Also any increase in general joint pain and stiffness?
Very severe perimeno symptoms but my thyroid tests have been stable thru out the years. In fact my synthroid was even decreased at one point. I’ve had hypo since teens.
I was seeing a naturopath for awhile who recommended I switch to natural thyroid med which was a huge mistake for me, my levels plummeted, so back to synthroid.
Seems to me if our levels are fine then that’s not what’s causing our symptoms.
Peri-menopause can reactivate or bring back viruses and illness you have had in the past and they will seem to be 100 times worse then the first time you had them. It can also make the illnesses you have at the present seem like they are getting worse as well. Stress will make them 1000 times worse by over stimulating your nervous system. Stress is to illnesses like gasoline is to fire!!!
Suzanne is right sometimes it is just Menopause and not the illness itself. Menopause can mimic many illnesses and can drive you mad trying figure it all out. Praying helps more than anything else when it comes to peri-menopause.
