Hi Ladies, I am 53 and my period has been irregular for the last year. I would get them closer together then skip a month but now the last couple months I have been getting a period every couple weeks. anyone else go though this? I have high health anxiety and this isnt helping!!!!!
I am 49 and have not seen my period since May and I am currently feeling so floated. I have the same feeling when i got pregnant. for the anxiety you have to acknowledge it and think positive thought. I had hot flashes for three months. It stops for few days now but the other symptoms kick in. I am a divorcee and it so hard to date.
Hi Brittay,
I am also 53 years old and have had irregular periods this past year with cycles of anywhere from 19 to 105 days… the ones close together are bothersome. I had a heavy one in Feb and then another heavy one 19 days later…if that wasn’t bad enough, the period I just had after a 105 day break lasted for 18 days…that’s 18 days of bleeding! I went and had a transvaginal ultrasound…everything came back normal…hormones are just out of balance…estrogen dominant I presume. I didn’t have bloodwork as the doctor said hormones fluctuate daily and I didn’t want to give up any more blood.
Perimenopause can make you health anxious. I don’t like how I feel and what I’m going through. It’s disturbing.
Maybe a trip to the gyne is in order for you and to have an ultrasound to see if you have any polyps or fibroids causing the frequent bleeding?
Hi Britt,
I’m 55 & I went through the lowest lows when my period was erratic in peri menopause. It was very heavy-then nothing,
then two weeks of bleeding then nothing, then it finally stopped & returned 18 months later & that brought on extreme anxiety because when its gone for a year it should not return.
I immediately went to my Gynecologist & he did an ultrasound biopsy & cystoscopy-all turned out fine. My entire life I have run to the Dr. to get reassurance, however my emotional turmoil is whats plagued me the most.
I have no doubt my anxiety & fear escalated over the last 5 years due to peri, menopause & post menopause which is where I am
presently.
I hope knowing you’re not alone gives you some sense of comfort. Here for you, XO
