I'm 44, will be 45 this summer. Ive monitored my cycles for years out of habit because we had to have two cycles of ICSI to have our two kids. My periods went from 24-29 day cycles to dropping a little the past couple of years to 22-26 days and I had a 19 day cycle about 2 years ago. I took a 24 day cycle at the beginning of the year then went on to have a 17 day cycle which scared me. The Dr I spoke with on the phone that day said it was probably Perimenopause but if it continues to go in and see them. That in itself worries me because I suffer from anxiety and haven't been able to attend the surgery for 2 years. Anyway, I then had an 18 day cycle and I've now got PMT on day 17 and may take another early one. I'm looking to see if this is normal in peri and was just looking for some reassurance. I've been told they may not check bloods as they aren't very reliable at this stage. I also have alot of Left Lower Abdo pains which have been ongoing on and off for years which have been getting worse. I saw a gynaecologist about 2.5 years ago who did a biopsy and said there was nothing to see. Any reassurance most
Yep, this is normal. Mine would go back and forth - normal, short, long… it’s crazy. Now I never know when the heck I’ll get one. Skipped 4 months, then had one, next cycle was bout 46 days. It’s because the hormones keep fluctuating.
I have gotten my period every 21 days for a little over two years now. I use the Clue app, so it’s easy to go back and look. For reference, I just turned 44. I was recently at two separate obgyn’s and neither mentioned anything strange about it.
