anyone else have this one to do
Hi carol! Welcome to this wonderful group of hippies! Hope your doing well? My phsyiso gave me excerises and left me to it! I am 12weeks post op on Monday! I am having reflexology and have been for hydrotherapy! Am going to join a swimming club. Near by and focus on gentle excerise! Regards Amanda
I haven't heard of that one. If it hurts your back, my advice is don't do it. You will survive without that one.
Hi carol - I agree with Barbara - i am 10 weeks post-op and had Physical Therapy
the day after surgery in hospital and once a week after - this week twice (might cut this down to one as I am in pain) - not sure what the benefit is of the excercise given to you but if it is hard and hurts you, don't do it --- is it your operated leg that you push against the wall? I just tried it and wouldn;t do it again... take good care and warm hug
Hi I was given 4 exercises on leaving hospital to do at home - a standing knee raise to horizontal 2 a straight leg back, 3 a side raise and 4 a squat. The leg raise was hardest but at 5 weeks I can do it easily now. It helped weight bearing a bit but I have found walking with my crutches so far the best help. I still can't total weight bear but can manage with 1 crutch well. My quadriceps are too weak. I'm going to ask at my 6 week post op meet for a physio referral to help. I did have weak muscles before and a trendelburg so I expect i will need quite a bit of physio.
Good luck with your physio. If it's hurting perhaps you ring the physio and check it's ok. Sometimes they say exercises will hurt and to take painkillers but it is important to know that its hurting in the right place and not causing other problems!
