Phone App 5,500 steps good, but crouching aim too

Hi Hippies,

My phone app set for recording an average of 5,500 plus steps a day - which  I find very usefulto monitor me  as I heal up from the op, now 3 months ago.

I'd also find crouching to pull up a dandelion useful too. i can bend to pick things up from floor on either hand, but can't yet get low to get posited over dandelion, annoying: hope this will come in time, maybevia my  gym dipping exercises?

Hi Mic,

You could always spray those dandelions....ha! I am still too weak to crouch and found it out the hard way. Good strengthening exercise though.

Cheers to you and the removal of those dandelions!

hi mic .... very impressive !!! how about using the grabber to pull out those dandelions :-) -

Hi guys,

Still don't easily put on sox standing up, but no the grabber is not on.

i luv my phone ap...some people seem to walk 4 miles aday post op, others round the street only, so my 5575 steps aday target gives me alittle push to walking more!

Crouching i really can't do yet, want to , so lucky dandelions, but don't see why I shouldn't try, being at 11 weeks not 5 weeks now. Tho someone will doubtless write in here and say their physio says never crouch, while mine says try anything gently, bar bungie jumping!!

Hi Mic,

Instead of trying to crouch, why not kneel to pull up those pesky dandelions?  I have a kneeling pad which I also use for cleaning the kitchen floor.

Um...doesnt your husband do the floor for you? Mx

My surgery was March 9, for my  RTHR.   I had a bit of a set back for I contracted some Bacterial Infection. But, yesterday I was given permission to leave my walker and use a cane around the house and for short distances.  But, I am to keep my walker close by incase I am tired.

I had a auto accident when I was 22 and I'm 56 now and I have to now learn to walk with out limp.  The new hip has fixed that apparently!

I feel kind of stupid for not knowing how to walk with out a limp!

I will persevere!

Good Luck to you on your recovery!

Well he's done it twice, but seeing as he was doing most everything else, I decided it was about time I did the kitchen floor!  Its not very big anyway, but I left the bigger job of the conservatory floor to him!

Hi hippy folk,

Hmmmm, does no one else else the walking steps count on their phone to help their progress on our road less travelled? Mx

Hiya mic. Which walking app is it you have..that would be handy!!

got a samsung galaxy 5, with S Health App, which also takes my bp in seconds too! Mx

Mic, I looked up S Health app and there are so many apps to choose from! Could you share which app you have in the S Health category?

Hiya Dawn

It's apparently a Samsung or Android app...advised best to ask phone shop which one suits yours bestest.

Apparently apple has a different system altogether.

I've done 6ooo steps today...useful information

I have a Droid, Samung, and there are dozens of those kinds of apps to choose from. I guess I will just try out some. Thanks!

Hi Dawn ....it doesn't say any more.

The EE shop said to phone Samsung with your details of model and ask re relevant app.

Good
