I'm new to this forum and I recently made some life changes quitting pot and caffeine cold turkey. I'm on day 30 and I continue to have an overwelming feeling of anxiety due to health concerns. I'm also suffering from Insomnia which is helping my anxiety. I basically start to feel it around night time and my neck muscles begin to stiffen which make sleeping extremely uncomfortable and difficult to do. I then look up causes for stiff neck muscles which I'm pretty sure its due to anxiety but the internet sends you in some many directions that it ends up increasing my anxiety. Just wondering if anyone has had similar issues and recommendations about getting this under control. I'm taking steps and it seems to help but still haven't managed to get the night anxiety and stiffing neck muscle under control.
Hi mate, I'm guessing.you will experience such symtpoms for a while longer. Just hang in there a d stick with what you're doing
Some days will seem like you're doing well and then you may have a lousy day which will seem to u do all your progress thus far. It can be tiring but you're not alone. I smoked weed once in my life during an Amsterdam trip. I researched the spiritual awakening and health benefits marijuana had. I took too much too fast - two clean joints one after the other. I tripped majorly. Hallucination, extreme paranoia and a sense I was in a different reality. My body couldn't handle it and in order to kick start itself I fainted for a split second. 9 months down the line and I'm still suffering anxiety and panic although learning to deal with it. It's a real eye opener to feelwhat we feel. Bit we will better more aware and experienced people for having gone through this. I have every symtpoms under thesun but it's at that point now where I just learn to liv e with them and accept them. Death will eventually come to us all butim tired of worrying about it and that realisation in itself helps me. It's comforting to know there are people like this. I smoked weed for a positive reason, not because I was a atoner or booked etc and now I'm paying for it. It's about time, there are so many stories online about this happening. Don't worry as best you can. Take care buddy you're not alone
What else are you doing to relieve anxiety? meditation, exercise, cbt? Try guided meditation, it is good because you listen to a calm soothing voice guiding you on how to relax. Do this daily for 5-10 minutes daily. Have you seeked any professional help. I recommend possibly getting blood work done. An irregular thyroid, hypo or hyper can affect emotions etc. Check for vitamin deficiencies. If you find out these are not the problems consult counseling for cognitive behavioral therapy. Hope this helps.
Hi Michael, thank you for the advice! I'm currently doing meditation and guided. I do exercise, mainly cardio at the moment including a weekly Sauna session. Went to see my dr and vitals were good and I'm actually having blood work done tomorrow morning. Did recently see a psychologist and were about to start the cognitive therapy. Tonight seems to be less stressful and I'm hoping I can get a good night sleep. Wondering if you've gone through this or know somebody who've had similar issues?
