Physiothérapie

Hi all

Been for physio today, didn't realise how much you can't do ,it's going to be hard going especially throwing a 7 year old in the mix lol, definitely can't go back to work sooner than 12 weeks, just need a date for operation now as everything else is done, how long did others wait??

Charlotte

Hi Charlotte...

My surgery is next Tue 21Apr...I' ve waited for a surgery date since November last year but also due to the fact that my hysterectomy involves complication and requires a urologist and gastroenterologist to be present.

It's been hard going for me for quite a while but I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully, all goes well.

I do sincerely hope that you needn't have to wait long for yours. Meanwhile, please take care.

Warm wishes,

Correen x

Hi Charlotte,

Can I just ask why you won't be able to go back to work before 12 weeks and what type of op you are having.I had a TAH and BSO last Tues and have been signed off for 8 weeks.I told them I would probably be off for 3 months but the way I feel now then 8 weeks would be too long but I will take the full time.I was given my date in Jan 12th but had to wait until April as I had to have 3 months of injections for my fibroids.

Why did you have a physio before the operation? I was just told verbally that I can do anything I want except lift heavy things.

Hi Charlotte

i waited 8 weeks for my operation.

I got my pre assessment done 8 weeks before too

I didn't have physio until 2 days after op and I also went home that day from hospital.

Everyday is different so I am not sure how long I will be off for but I think it will be a while.

Hope you don't have too long to wait. Especially looking after a 7 year old

good luck

Hi Charlotte

In the end I waited 3 years, part of that my fault, my bladder, bowel and womb had all shifted, and they were worried I would end up with a bag (worst case scenerio) as my bowel and bladder were like tissue paper.  Frightened me to death, so I did a lot of research, and self help, managed to strengthened everything up but everything was just getting lower and lower and terribly uncomfortable and I realised I had to take the chance.  Thank goodness they managed to put me all back together again, and I feel marvellous.

But in answer to your question every hospital has a different waiting time.  I contacted PALS in the end, brilliant organisation that answered my email within 2 hours with a date.  So don't be afraid to keep asking when.

Good luck

Love

Must agree with you Jacqui about Pals. They have been marvellous.Plus I also got a couple of cancellation appointments.1 was for my ct scan and 1 was the first time I saw my consultant so this saved about 4 weeks in total.

I have always learnt to ask to have my name on a cancellation list. You never know.
