PINWORM infection and prostatitis seeking .

Hello all, I am hoping to come in contact with a medical professional who can give me some answers. 

I have been struggling with non bacterial prostatitis for the last 9 months. I have been tested for STDs, diabetes etc. 

 

ER Doctor believes the pinworms could have inflamed my rectal lining and pressed up against my prostate. Causing constant urination, swelling etc. 

My bladder / prostate symptoms have gotten worse over the last month and I have been diagnosed with a severe pinworm infection after rectal bleeding, severe itchiness, pain and rectal Worms I have experienced relief from my first dose of VERMOX and holistic methods. I found a few More worms and I took Reese’s pinworm today OTC as a double wammy to the worms w doctors approval (will follow up with each double dosage 2 week later)

1. Is this prostatis unheard of and possible?

2. Why arent I finding articles about men getting UTI from parasites? Can you refer me to some!

Also forgot to mention I am a 22 year old otherwise healthy male

This forum is for fellow-sufferers, so I doubt you will get much help as your problem sounds rare and unusual. We don't usually get doctors responding on here, just other people with similar experiences 'comparing notes'. You will get sympathy, interest and fellowship. I for one feel for you and very much hope your treatment works and you can put this unpleasant and distressing condition behind you soon!
