PIPs

My wife is on PIPs and her disabilities will not get better. Does she need to be assssed every year?

Hi Richard,

it will say on the PIP award letter how long the award is for.  I believe I am right in saying that the DWP start a new claim 12 months before the last one finishes, so if the award is say for example June 2020 then she would hear from the DWP in June 2019.  I hope this helps.

If you request a reassessment yearly you run the risk of being reassed lower, despite your belief that she is worse. So it's a risk you take, may be better to leave the award as it is until the review date.

Hi I agree with the replies you have had.  The Govt. have recently announced that certain conditions will not be reassassed as they are assumed to be permanent.  If you look online you should find that information.  x

No

This is for ESA not PIP. Reviews are still taking place for all conditions for PIP.

Morag that's wrong. People are still being reviewed what ever their condition for PIP. Reviews depend on the length of award given and are reviewed 1 year before award is due to end.
