could spmeone tel me what symptoms they had before there diagnosis for a piturity gland tumor
Hi Joyce. I had a pituitary tumour removed in 2013. Before diagnosis I had:
Loss of body hair
Constantly feeling cold
Loss of weight and muscle
Low mood
Odd eyesight (having blind spots and blurry vision)
Near-fainting episodes (due to low blood pressure)
Those were the main ones for me. These were due to very low Cortisol and Testosterone hormones due to the tumour. Once the tumour was removed, my eyesight returned to normal and I now take Hydrocortison tablets (20mg per day) and Testosterone injections.

Hallo, ich leide seit 1969 an einem Hypophysentumor, oder sollte ich sagen, ich wurde damals diagnostiziert, nachdem ich jahrelang unter Kopfschmerzen gelitten hatte, die kamen und gingen. Ich konnte Monate ohne Kopfschmerzen verbringen, aber ich wurde oft mit einem Schmerz im Hinterkopf wach. Wenn dieser auftrat, hätte ich meinen Kopf gegen die Wand schlagen können. Ich hatte ihn für etwa zwei Stunden, dann verschwand er wieder. Das ging jahrelang so. Ich hatte viele Bluttests, die alle in Ordnung waren. Nach Jahren des Leidens verlor ich meinen Sexualtrieb, was ein Symptom ist, unter dem Männer leiden. Schließlich ging ich zwei aufeinanderfolgende Tage ins Krankenhaus, jeweils 8 Stunden, und ließ eine Reihe von Tests durchführen, darunter kanülierte Bluttests und eine MRT-Untersuchung. Dann wurde mir gesagt, dass ich einen Hypophysentumor habe. Derzeit bin ich seit 3 Jahren ohne Medikamente, obwohl ich weiterhin ins Krankenhaus gehe, wo mir Blut abgenommen wird, um meinen Prolaktinspiegel zu überprüfen. Letzten Monat wurde bei mir eine MRT- und eine Knochendichtemessung durchgeführt. Ich hoffe, das hilft Ihnen weiter.

The only tests I have hhad were for throid problems and they came back ok

So wurde auch meiner und ich nehme an, der von jedem anderen entdeckt. Ich habe ein Prolaktinom, das mich zu viel Prolaktin produzieren lässt, was normalerweise bei einer Frau der Fall wäre. Regelmäßige Bluttests halten meine Prolaktinspiegel im Auge. Ich nehme an, dass die Symptome bei jedem anders sind. Zum Beispiel, während ich kanülierte Bluttests hatte, erzählte mir die Stationsschwester von jemandem, der ein Prolaktinom wie ich hatte. Sie sagte, er könne die Straße entlanggehen und aus keinem offensichtlichen Grund in Tränen ausbrechen. Er wartete darauf, dass sein Tumor operativ entfernt wurde. Noch einmal würde ich Ihnen vorschlagen, eine MRT-Untersuchung anzufordern. Das wird Ihnen sicherlich den Geist beruhigen. Viel Glück
Hello Joyce, I was digiagniosed with a pituitary tumor about 3 years ago. My symptoms were crazy. I worked construction for a living and one day I noticed I was starting to have problems with my hands gripping the trusses and I would fall ( thanks for safety harness). Then I noticed my weight had went down, bright light flashes would make me pass out, Moy voice changed know my eye sight is going down fast and the worse things I was concerned with was my sex drive was gone so depression. Then I finally went to a doctor he asked what my problem was. I laughed well first my shoulder were hurting and I was having numbness in my neck, shoulders, arms and I was losing my grip in my hands. Well had to do mri's, we'll the results came back with just bone spurs. I asked what should we do cause iam tired of losing my grip. Doc said I have idea to do another mri's on my neck and then he told me then that he was glad he had it done because they discovered the tumor. Sorry so long but this is helping vent. Iam 48 now still with the tumor that is measured at 8mm x 5mm but has stopped growing at this time. Doc are saying since at this time it's not cancerous they said there not doing any thing just maintain medication.
Hello I read about you saying that your eye sight had gotten better that is so great. My question is was your tumor cancerous. I have a 8mm x 5mm pituitary tumor they just told me it's not cancerous and as of now it stopped growing so they said stay on medication. Just don't know what to do cause my eye doctor believes the tumor is causing my eye sight problem. Plus now bright flashes of lights cause me to go into having seizures. Thank you for listening
Hallo James, es tut mir leid, dass du so eine schlechte Zeit hast. Ich wurde 1996 diagnostiziert und habe von da an bis vor drei Jahren Medikamente eingenommen. Ich habe nicht so gelitten wie du, bei mir waren es hauptsächlich Kopfschmerzen, aber ich habe meinen Sexualtrieb verloren. Ich habe ein Prolaktinom, was bedeutet, dass ich zu viel Prolaktin produziere. Deiner ist etwas größer als meiner. Mir wurde am Anfang gesagt, dass sie eine Entfernung erst in Betracht ziehen, wenn er 10 mm erreicht. Mein Prolaktinwert liegt derzeit bei 780, was höher ist als es sollte. Mein eigener Hausarzt würde bei einem Wert über 300 behandeln, was ich denke, der normale Wert ist, mein Endokrinologe würde erst bei Werten von 2000 behandeln. Es wird ein bisschen verwirrend für mich, da verschiedene Krankenhäuser bei unterschiedlichen Werten behandeln.

Sept 2016 I ended up in the Hospital for 6 days with severe head aches and extreme is ion distortion. They did an MRI and found the Pituitary tumor. The specialist said the Tumor was not causing the head aches. I was out of my home state then went back home and my Doctor wanted to redo a MRI, which he found that I had a cyst.
In hindsight I was very tired for the last 6 years.
