So I am currently on a long road trip which has me very overwhelmed.. I’ve notice a different breathing pattern one minute I’m fine then it’s like I have a gasp for air moment I’m trying not to freak out but I’m getting scared .. is this normal for anxiety..!! It’s not a big gasp but it’s like I have to take a deep breath or something
Id say anxiety. I get it whenever i go in the car on a long journey. I worry how am.ambulance would get to me on the motorway, where the nearest hospital is, a road accident etc. Then it sets me anxiety off making all these crazy symptoms start. Your doing amazing by going on a long car journey. Close your eyes and breath in and deeply. Keep doing it until you find a comfortable breathing pattern again xx
To ground you, think of something you can see on the trip, imagine yourself touching it and what it feels like. Then imagine what it might smell like, or think of something you can taste. This really helps me when I’m driving.

Hey there, I’m not a doctor and might be a medical thing, but at the same time, I’ve experienced this myself when in unfamiliar situations sometimes. My chest tightens, I cant get a breathe in or I feel like a fight or flight response. I started reading health anxiety books which helped me to understand this more and fully recommend this. For now on your trip, try scrolling through Facebook or Instagram for distractions
Just tell yourself you are fine. You are safe. How are you now? Me and you know your worrys you have now are just our anxiety giving us crazy irrational thoughts. Anxiety always peaks when In a new or un comfortable situation. Xm
